ABOUT ME

Hey, my name is Mercedes Ortiz and I was born on October 26, 2003 in Mexico City. Amongst the things I like doing most are painting, writing and reading. All of these help me express my thoughts and feelings in various ways. My love for things like nature and music influence my art since they are what motivates me most.

 

Mexican culture has been very influential in my work because it is the environment in which I was raised in. All our traditions and celebrations have always been filled with colors, loud music and more importantly artists who help represent  and give a physical appearance to what started as an omnipresent belief.

 

I have been interested in the Plastic Arts and writing for a very long time. When I was little my dream was to become an animator at Pixar but after some time this dream has changed as well as I have. During my life, I have had the opportunity to take art and animation classes which helped me discover many things about myself and narrow down my interests. Up until now, I aspire to become a book editor or  work in the cinematic industry as an art director. Although my future career is not set in stone yet, I am willing to put in as much effort as possible to achieve my goals.
